Important: A sharp putty knife may be necessary to cut the adhesive bead retaining the headliner to the cardboard roof reinforcement.
16. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner from the cardboard roof dampener.
17. Remove the headliner through the rear passenger door opening.
Installation Procedure
Important: If the headliner locators separate from the headliner during removal, obtain a locator repair kit from GM SPO.
1. Load the headliner into the vehicle through the rear passenger door opening.
2. With the aid of a helper, raise the headliner into position.
3. Install the assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement (See: Passenger Assist Handle/Service and Repair) .
4. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement (See: Sun Visor/Service and Repair/Sunshade Replacement) .
5. Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar (See: Trim Panel/Service and
Repair/Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar) .
6. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar.
7. Connect the headliner wiring harness connector.
