Exhaust Manifold Pipe Replacement- Rear 

Removal Procedure

Caution:  Refer to Exhaust Service Caution in Service Precautions.

Caution:  Refer to Protective Goggles and Gloves Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the 4 nuts securing the catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold rear pipe.

Notice:  Refer to Flex Decoupler Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Position the exhaust system rearward, enough to allow the studs located in the front of the catalytic converter to clear the exhaust manifold rear

pipe.

4. Remove the catalytic converter gasket. Do not reuse the gasket.

5. Remove the 2 bolts (2) attaching the exhaust manifold rear pipe to the right exhaust manifold.
6. Remove the 2 bolts (3) securing the exhaust manifold rear pipe to the exhaust manifold front pipe. 
7. Remove the exhaust manifold rear pipe and the gasket (1). Do not reuse the gasket.
8. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe seal (4) from the exhaust manifold front pipe. Do not reuse the seal.
9. Remove the exhaust manifold flange seal retainer (5).
