Water/Coolant Pump

COOLANT PUMP

Fig. 26 Water Pump Assembly & Housing

SPECIAL TOOL REQUIRED (or equivalent)

J-38816-A, Water pump remover/installer.

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. Drain cooling system.
2. Air cleaner assembly.
3. Water pump housing (4 bolts.)
4. Water pump drive belt.
5. Water pump from vehicle (for the ALLANTE, rotate clockwise to remove.)
6. Clean water pump and engine front cover sealing surfaces.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. Water pump. Tighten pump to 100 Nm (73 lb ft.)
2. Drive belt.
3. Water pump housing.  Tighten housing bolts to 10 Nm (88 lb in.)
4. Air cleaner.
5. Refill cooling system.
