Front Steering Knuckle: Service and Repair

1. Remove hub and bearing assembly as outlined under Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Wheel Bearing/Wheel Hub.
2. Remove nut securing tie rod, then separate tie rod from knuckle.
3. Cut inner tabs from boot protector tool No. J 34754 or equivalent and install protector over drive axle outer joint.
4. Remove cotter pin and nut securing lower ball joint and separate ball stud from steering knuckle.
5. Remove bolts securing strut to steering knuckle, Fig. 3, and the steering knuckle.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
