Starting May 21, 1994 (Julian Date 4141) all HYDRA-MATIC 4T80-E transaxles were built with a new Hub and Clutch Plate assemblies for the
forward/coast clutch. (Figure 1)
The new coast clutch hub has a 53 tooth design (previous design had 51 teeth) that requires two new coast clutch fiber plates with a 53 tooth-design.
When servicing the 4TBO-E transaxles built before May 21, 1994 that require a new coast clutch hub (719), a sprag and flange assembly (24200461)
must be ordered together with two (2) new coast clutch plate assemblies (24200459). The Coast Clutch Hub is available only as part of the Sprag and
Flange Assembly which consist of the following parts:
Internal Gear (708), Input Internal Gear Flange (725), Snap Ring (709), Thrust Washer (713), Forward Clutch Sprag Assembly (716), Forward Sprag
Outer Race (721), Thrust Washer (720), Coast Clutch Hub (719), Snap Ring (717) and Thrust Bearing (718).
If the original coast clutch hub (719/8682229-51 tooth) can be reused, then the coast clutch fiber plates (8677829-51 tooth) supplied in the overhaul kit
may be used.
