Removal Procedure

Tools Required
-

J 6627-A Wheel Stud Remover

1. Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle with suitable safety stands. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Single Front or Rear Wheels) in Wheels, Tires and Alignment.

Notice:  Support the caliper with a piece of wire to prevent damage to the brake line.

3. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement (Front Delco) in Brakes and Traction Control.
4. Remove the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement (K Models Below 8600 GVW) or Brake Rotor Replacement (K Models Above 8600 GVW)

in Brakes and Traction Control.

Important:  Do not hammer on a wheel bolt.

5. Remove the hub bolt using the J 6627-A.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the stud to the hub and bearing assembly.

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install four washers and the nut to the stud.

Install the nut. Draw the stud in.

2.2.

Remove the nut and the washers. Install the rotor. Refer to Brake Rotor Replacement (K Models Below 8600 GVW) or Brake Rotor
Replacement (K Models Above 8600 GVW) in Brakes and Traction Control .
