HVAC air inlet without a seal around the base of the air inlet
HVAC air inlet with a seal around the base of the air inlet

If there is NOT a seal around the base of the HVAC air inlet, proceed to step 3.

If there is a seal around the base of the HVAC air inlet, proceed to step 10.
Caution
To avoid cracking the HVAC air inlet cover, ensure that you have cut the seal around the cover. Carefully pry upward to remove the cover. Do
NOT use excessive force to remove the cover. If required, re-cut the cover seal and gently pry upward on the cover. Some cover tabs will break
during the removal process. Cover tab damage will not affect the seal when you re-install the cover. However, REPLACE the cover if the base of
the cover is cracked during cover removal.
Note
Use a box cutter, gasket scraper and body trim tool to remove the cover.
3. Cut sealer around HVAC air inlet cover using a razor blade, box cutter, or equivalent.
