13. Remove the brake caliper bracket.
14. Remove any contaminants or foreign material from the inside ends of the brake caliper bracket.
15. Clean the mounting surface and threads of the brake caliper bracket.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the brake caliper bracket.
2. Perform the following procedure before installing the brake caliper bracket bolts.
1. Remove all traces of the original adhesive patch.
2. Clean the threads of the bolt with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
3. Apply threadlocker GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) to the threads of the bolt.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (See: Service Precautions/Vehicle Damage Warnings/Fastener Caution).
3. Install the brake caliper bracket bolts and tighten to 165 Nm(122 lb ft).
Note:
*
If installing the original brake pads and retaining springs, position the brake pads and retaining springs in the original location.
*
DO NOT reuse the old brake pad retaining springs with new brake pads. Replace with NEW only.
4. Install the retaining springs to the brake caliper bracket.
5. Install the brake pads.
