Wheels - Center Cap Loose, Retention Wire/Ring Missing

Subject: Wheel Center Cap Loose, Retention Wire/Ring Missing or Improperly Positioned (Inspect for Retaining Wire/Ring, Replace if Missing)
Models:
2007-2009 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV, Escalade EXT
with 22 Inch Chrome Plated Aluminum Wheel (RPO P56)
Condition
Some customers may comment that the wheel center caps are loose and/or making noise.
Cause
This condition may be caused by a missing or improperly installed wheel center cap retention wire/ring.
Correction
Inspect the center cap using the following procedure:
1. Remove the center cap from the vehicle.
2. Inspect for the presence of the retaining wire/ring.
3. If the retaining wire/ring is missing, install a new retaining wire/ring.
4. If the retaining wire/ring is installed, ensure it is in the correct position at all 14 retention feet as shown in the above photograph.

If the retention wire/ring is outboard of the retention foot, reposition the wire/ring.
