Ball Joint: Testing and Inspection
Upper
Upper Ball Joint
If ball joint has any noticeable lateral movement or can be twisted within its socket using finger pressure, the joint must be replaced.

Lower Ball Joint
A wear indicator is built in the ball joint. Remove dirt deposits around service plug and observe position of nipple. Refer to Fig. 2, for wear tolerance.
