    Valve lifters are available in standard size and an oversize of .010 inch. An ``O'' is etched on the side of the .010 inch oversize lifter for identification.
Also, the cylinder block near the valve lifter bore is marked with an ``O,'' Fig. 10. Ensure valve lifters are reinstalled in original bores.
    Plungers are not interchangeable because they are fitted to the bodies at the factory.
    If plunger and body appear satisfactory blow off with air to remove all particles of dirt. Install the plunger in the body without other parts and check
for free movement. A simple test is to be sure that the plunger will drop of its own weight in the body, Fig. 11.
