SUBJECT:
IMPROPER FRONT DOOR WINDOW TRAVEL
MODELS AFFECTED: 1985 DE VILLE AND FLEETWOODS
The front door windows may not raise to the full up position on some 1985 De Villes and Fleetwoods. This condition may be caused by the glass guide
to regulator breaking or running out of the lower sash channel. To repair this condition relocate the rear section of the window regulator guide using the
following procedure:
1.
Remove door trim panel and water deflector as described in Section 5 of the 1985 FWD "C" Body Service Manual.

Using a 1/4" drill bit, drill out rivets from upper and lower guide mounts of regulator guide, see Figure 1.
3.
Locate and drill new regulator guide mount holes as shown in Figure 1.
4.
Install guide into lower sash channel, as described in Section 5 of the 1985 FWD "C" Body Service Manual, if broken or disengaged from lower
sash channel.
5.
Reposition regulator guide over new guide mounting holes and attach to door inner panel with 1/4" peel type rivets.
