MEMORY SEAT LOSES HORIZONTAL POSITION ON RECALL

MODELS AFFECTED:

1985-1990 FLEETWOODS 1988-1991 FLEETWOOD SIXTY SPECIALS

Some 1985-1990 Fleetwoods and 1988-1991 Fleetwood Sixty Specials equipped with memory seats may experience a 1/2 to 2 inch loss of horizontal
position on recall. This condition may be caused by grease migrating into the horizontal drive motor from the outboard horizontal drive cable. This
grease can coat the motor armature contacts causing the memory module to see an incorrect position signal. To repair this condition use the following
procedure:

1.

Remove seat bolts at floor pan and disconnect electrical connections.

2.

Tilt seat backward to gain access to seat adjuster.

Remove the outboard horizontal drive cable and motor assembly and discard. Refer to Figure 1.

4.

Replace the outboard horizontal drive cable with P/N 20515599. Do not grease this cable. Replace motor assembly with P/N 20560003.

5.

Replace seat bolts. Tighten to 28 N-m (21 lbs.ft.).

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T5199 at .6 hour.
