DESCRIPTION:
This chart analyzes the comparisons between the power balance test and the injector flow test to determine the condition of the fuel injectors. If the fuel
injectors are in good condition, the ignition secondary may be the cause of the problem.
NOTES ON FAULT TREE:
1.
Fuel pressure should be 32-38 psi depending on engine load and altitude. By disconnecting the vacuum hose, engine load compensation is taken
away from the fuel pressure regulator. Pressure should rise to approximately 45 psi. If pressure is higher than 50 psi, replace the regulator. If
pressure is lower than 40 psi, check fuel pump operation, filter and electrical circuits.
