Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement
Fuel Rail Assembly - Exploded View
REMOVAL:(Fuel rail installed on vehicle)
1.
Negative battery cable.
2.
Air cleaner upper housing.
3.
Relieve the fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
4.
Fuel return line at rear rail attachment.
5.
Pressure regulator base screw (T30) with Torx(R) tool.
6.
Pressure regulator return line bracket screw at rear rail.
7.
Pressure regulator and return pipe assembly from fuel rail.
8.
Regulator return pipe from pressure regulator.

Use care in removing the pipe so as not to damage the O-ring seating surface.
9.
Remove the regulator O-ring and discard.
INSTALLATION:(Fuel rail installed on vehicle)
1.
Lubricate a new O-ring with clean engine oil and install it on the regulator.
2.
Install the regulator return pipe in the pressure regulator assembly and tighten the nut to 18 N-m (13 lb. ft.). Use backup wrench to prevent
damage.
3.
Install the pressure regulator and pipe assembly to fuel rail.
4.
Install the pressure regulator attaching screw, and tighten to 12 N-m (9 lb. ft.).
5.
Install the regulator return pipe attaching screw to the rear rail, and tighten to 12 N-m (9 lb. ft.).
6.
Connect the fuel return line at the rear rail.
7.
Air cleaner upper housing.
8.
Negative battery cable.
