HIGH NOISE LEVEL FROM COOLING FAN (REVERSE FANS)

MODELS AFFECTED:
1993 FLEETWOODS AND FLEETWOOD BROUGHAMS (RWD)

On 1993 Fleetwoods and Fleetwood Broughams with the V03 option (Extra Capacity Cooling), the cooling fan may be noisy.

The primary cooling fan is a 240 watt unit. This unit may have an unacceptable level of noise. A production change was made to use the 150 watt fan as
the primary, and the 240 watt fan as the secondary, in September of 1992 with VIN PR700899.

To ensure that the fan noise is not confused with A/C compressor moan, disconnect the prima fan and run the vehicle with the A/C on. If the noise
goes away, proceed with the correction. If it does not, investigate for causes of compressor moan.

Disconnect negative battery cable.

Remove the two cooling fans and reinstall in reverse position following the instructions of pages 6B-11 and 12 of the 1993 Fleetwood Preliminary
Service Information Manual. This will put the 150 watt fan on the left-hand side as the primary 240 watt fan on the right-hand side as the
secondary fan.

Replace the 30 amp Maxi-fuse # 7 ("SCNDRY CLG FAN") with a 50 amp Maxi-fuse. This fuse is located in the underhood electrical center.
Refer to page 8A-201-6, Figure 13. Page 8A-11-3 shows a close-up of the electrical center.

Replace the electrical center cover with P/N 10233852 which has a corrected fuse chart.

Reconnect negative battery cable.

Parts are expected to be available on January 25, 1993. In case of limited inventory, parts will be placed on 400 control to waive VIP surcharges. Only
verifiable emergency VIP orders will be accepted. SPO will make every effort to obtain parts. However, the part will be shipped premium transportation
at dealer's expense, and all other order types will be placed on back order until the 400 control is removed.

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6698 at .4 hour.
