Fleetwood FWD V8-300 4.9L (1993)
To repair this condition use the following procedure (illustrated in Figure 2):
1.
Remove the helix converter seal taking care not to damage case bore. Refer to the appropriate Service Information Manual, Section 7,
"On-Vehicle Service" for removal procedure.
2.
Clean case bore with parts cleaner and air dry.
3.
Apply a bead of Loctite 272, P/N 12345493 or equivalent, at outer edge of converter seal. This will ensure a uniform coat of Loctite 272, or
equivalent, as helix seal is installed.
4.
Install helix converter seal, P/N 8680541.
5.
Wait 30 minutes before exposing helix seal with Loctite 272 or equivalent, to DEXRON-IIE (ATF). A 24-hour cure time is required before
vehicle should be started.
