Fleetwood FWD V8-300 4.9L (1993)
Case Side Cover Bolts Inspection.
TRANSAXLE CASE SIDE COVER AND/OR GASKETS
CLEAN:
Case and side cover gasket surfaces.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Raise vehicle.
2. New gaskets on case, retain with petroleum jelly.
3. Side cover, bolts and nuts. Torque Bolts and nuts to 14 Nm (10 lbs ft).
NOTE: Inspect cover bolts for damage. See figure.
4. Lower vehicle.
5. Raise transaxle left side to previous position.
6. Raise vehicle
7. Raise frame and loosely install bolts.
8. Tighten six frame mount bolts.
9. Support frame.
10. Left drive axle to vehicle.
11. Drive axle into knuckle and left drive axle nut.
12. Steering intermediate shaft into steering gear.
13. Rotate the steering intermediate shaft so that the steering gear stub shaft clamp bolt is accessible form the left wheel opening and install the clamp
bolt.
14. Exhaust front and rear pipe exhaust assembly.
15. Exhaust at front and rear manifold and catalytic converter.
16. Power steering pressure hose at steering gear and return hose at auxiliary cooler.
17. Wire loom and vacuum hoses from clips on frame.
18. ABS pump from bracket and support.
19. A/C compressor splash shield.
20. All transaxle and engine mount to frame nuts.
21. Both stabilizer to strut links, ball joint nuts and cotter pins, install both ball joints from steering knuckles.
22. Right and left wheel housing lower splash shields.
23. Both front tire and wheel assemblies.
24. Lower vehicle.
25. Remove engine support fixture J-28467.
26. Reposition right engine cooling fan.
27. Air cleaner assembly.
28. Negative battery cable.
