1.
Drain brake fluid from caliper and clean thoroughly.

Use clean shop towels to pad inside of caliper, then remove piston by applying compressed air to fluid inlet port. Use only enough air pressure to
ease piston from bore. Keep fingers away from piston to avoid injury as piston is forced out.
3.
Pry dust boot from caliper, taking care not to damage housing bore.
4.
With a small wood or plastic tool remove piston seal from caliper bore. Do not use metal tool since this may damage caliper bore or seal
groove.
5.
Inspect piston for scoring nicks, corrosion, wear and damage and replace as needed.
6.
Inspect caliper housing and seal groove for corrosion, nicks, scoring and excessive wear. Use crocus cloth to polish away corrosion from housing
bore. Replace caliper housing if corrosion in and around seal groove will not clean up with crocus cloth.
7.
Remove bleeder screw from caliper housing, Fig. 1.
8.
Clean components with denatured alcohol and dry with unlubricated compressed air. Blow out all passages in housing and bleeder valve.
Mounting Bracket Service
Removal
1.
Remove caliper as outlined previously.
2.
Remove mounting bracket attaching bolts, then mounting bracket.
