IP AND CCDIC DISPLAYS FLICKER OR TURN OFF AND/OR CODE E047 SET
MODELS AFFECTED: 1986-1989 ELDORADOS AND SEVILLES 1987-1989 ALLANTES
Some 1986-1989 Eldorados, Sevilles, and 1987-1989 Allantes may experience flickering or blank instrument panel (IPC) and Climate Control/Driver
Information Center (CCDIC) displays, possibly accompanied by code E047. This may be caused by a poor solder connection in the Central Power
Supply (CPS). If both the IPC and the CCDIC displays are flickering or are blank, check the part number on the CPS. If it is 16058596, replace it with
P/N 16088406.
Parts are expected to be available on March 13, 1989. Until then, normal part orders will not be accepted by GMSPO. Only verifiable emergency VIP
orders will be accepted. SPO will make every effort to obtain parts. All parts will be placed on 400 control to waive VIP surcharges, However, the part
will be shipped premium transportation at dealer's expense. All other order types will be cancelled as incorrectly ordered while the 400 control is in
place.
