Maxi Fuses:
On the 1989 Allante the fusible links located near the battery have been replaced by a new circuit protection device, the Maxi Fuse, refer to Figure 2.

The Maxi Fuse is very similar to a standard Auto Fuse. The major differences are the physical size and the amperage capacity. The Maxi Fuses are
located in a small covered fuse block above the battery, refer to Figure 3. They may be serviced by unplugging them from the fuse block and installing a
new part.
The Allante uses eight Maxi Fuses. Most of the Maxi Fuses function similar to fusible links in that they supply high power circuits which are then
protected by smaller Auto Fuses. Table 1 summarizes the circuits supplied by each Maxi Fuse. Table 2 lists Maxi Fuse part numbers, amp capacity and
color.
For warranty purposes use Labor Operation N1720 at .2 hour for replacement of Maxi Fuses.
