2. Insert wide end of spacer tool No. J 35739-1, or equivalent, between control arm flanges.
3. Coat threads of tool No. J 21474-19, or equivalent, with high pressure lubricant part No. J 23444-A, or equivalent.
4. Use bushing installer tool No. J 28576-1, receiver tool No. J 35739-3, bearing nut tool No. J 21474-18, and bolt tool No. J 21474-19, or
equivalents, Fig. 6.
5. Draw bushing into control arm by tightening nut. Tighten nut until bushing flange seats firmly against control arm.
6. Refer to Control Arm/Service and Repair for suspension assembly.
INNER
Removal
1. Remove control arm as described under Control Arm/Service and Repair.
2. Insert spacer between control arm flanges. Special tool No. J 35739-1, or equivalent is a combination of two spacers. The narrow spacer must be
used for inner bushing removal and installation.
3. Coat the threads of bolt No. J 21474-19 with high pressure lubricant part No. J 23444-A, or equivalent, to prevent thread damage.
4. Install remover tool No. J 21474, receiver tool No. J 21474-5, bearing nut tool No. J 21474-18 and bolt tool No. J 21474-19, or equivalents, Fig.
6.
5. Remove bushing from control arm by tightening nut.
Installation
1. Position new bushing on control arm. Bushing must be installed from the outside of the control arm, then drawn inward to the control arm
centerline.
2. Insert narrow end of spacer tool No. J 35739-1 between control arm flanges, then coat threads of bolt No. J 21474-19 with high pressure lubricant
No. J 23444-A.
3. Install bushing installer tool No. J 28576-1, receiver tool No. J 21474-5, bearing nut No. J 21474-18 and bolt No. J 21474-19, Fig. 6.
4. Draw bushing into control arm by tightening nut. Tighten nut until bushing flange seats firmly against control arm.
5. Refer to Control Arm/Service and Repair for suspension assembly.
