1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair/Air Bag Disarming and

2. Remove the center pillar trim panel. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement Center Pillar in Interior Trim.
3. Remove the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (3) from the inflatable restraint side impact sensing module (SISM) harness connector (2).
4. Disconnect the SDM harness connector (2) from the SISM (1).
5. Remove the SISM (1) mounting fasteners (2).
6. Remove the SISM (1) from the center pillar sheetmetal (5).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the SISM (1) to the center pillar sheetmetal (5).

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices. See: Service and Repair/Fastener Precautions

2.

Install the SISM mounting fasteners (1).

Tighten
Tighten fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

3. Install the SISM harness connector (2) to the SISM (1).
4. Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) (3) to the SISM harness (2) connector.
5. Install the center pillar trim. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Center Pillar in Interior Trim.
6. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System. See: Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair/Air Bag Disarming and

Arming/Enabling the SIR System
