Note: The upper brake caliper guide pin is equipped with a bushing and is not interchangeable with the lower brake caliper guide pin.
8. Remove the upper brake caliper guide pin (1) and seal.
9. Remove the lower brake caliper guide pin (2) and seal.
10. Inspect the front disc brake hardware for damage and replace, if necessary. Refer to Front Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection (See:
Disc Brake System/Testing and Inspection/Front Disc Brake Mounting and Hardware Inspection).
Installation Procedure
1. Apply a light coat of high temperature silicone brake lubricant to the brake caliper guide pins.
2. Assemble the brake caliper guide pin seals to the brake caliper guide pins.
3. Ensure the lip of the seal is fully seated in the groove of the brake caliper guide pin.
Note: The upper brake caliper guide pin is equipped with a bushing and is not interchangeable with the lower brake caliper guide pin.
4. Install the upper brake caliper guide pin (1) and seal assembly to the brake caliper bracket.
5. Ensure the lip of the seal is fully seated in the groove of the brake caliper bracket.
