Fuel Injector: Service and Repair

Fuel Injector Replacement

Removal Procedure
Warning: Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning   (See: Fuel/Service Precautions).

1. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief   (See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair).
2. Remove the upper intake manifold with the lower intake manifold. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Replacement   (See: Engine, Cooling and

Exhaust/Engine/Intake Manifold/Service and Repair/Upper Intake Manifold Replacement).

3. Remove the fuel pipe retaining clip. 

4. Disconnect the fuel feed pipe (2) from the fuel injector rail. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service   (See: Fuel Line Coupler/Service
