7. Pull the power seat wire harness (1) down. Inspect the wire harness (1) for any damage, scoring, pinched areas, or chaffing.

If wire damage is found, repair the wire harness. Refer to Repairing Damaged Wire Insulation and Wiring Repair in SI. After completing the
wire repair, proceed to Step 8.

If no wire damage is found, proceed to Step 8.

8. Apply a piece of butyl tape (3M Scotch 06147, 06149 or equivalent) (4) to the seat frame tab (2). Ensure that the whole seat frame tab (2) is

covered with the butyl tape (4). The seat frame tab (2) is next to the front shield bracket (3).

9. Route the power seat wire harness (1) above the seat frame tab (2) and secure it at this location with a tie strap (5).

10. Cinch down the tie strap (5) that was loosely installed to the power seat wire harness at the seat frame tab location. Clip the excess tie strap (5).
11. Install the seat in the upright position.
12. Install the rear seat bolts. Tighten seat bolts to 45 Nm (33 lb ft).
13. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling in SI.
14. Cycle the rear vertical lifter motor several times up and down. Carefully watch under the front outboard corner using an inspection mirror. Look

for any possibility of the harness pinching in the rework area.

15. Determine if the vehicle is equipped with front wheel drive or an all-wheel drive system.
