SRX AWD V8-4.6L VIN A (2004)
1. Turn the steering wheel so that the vehicle's wheels are pointing straight ahead.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
3. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
4. Adjust the right rear seat to the rear of vehicle.
5. Pull the carpet away from under the right side of rear seat.
6. When the carpet is pulled away from the rear seat the right rear fuse center (1) will be exposed, then remove the fuse center top cover.
IMPORTANT: With the SIR fuse removed and the ignition switch in the ON position, the AIR BAG warning indicator illuminates. This is normal
operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
7. Locate and remove the SIR fuse from the right rear fuse center.
8. When disabling the roof rail module go to step 9, if the side impact sensor (SIS) needs disabling then go to step 12.
9. Remove the right carpet retainer trim.
10. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) (2) from the right/passenger roof rail module yellow connector (3).
11. Disconnect the right roof rail module connector (3) from the right roof rail module (1).
