4. Adjust the right rear seat to the rear of vehicle.
5. Pull the carpet away from under the right side of rear seat.
6. When the carpet is pulled away from the rear seat the right rear fuse center (1) will be exposed, then remove the fuse center top cover.
7. Locate and remove the SIR fuse from the right rear fuse center.
IMPORTANT: With the SIR fuse removed and the ignition switch in the ON position, the AIR BAG warning indicator illuminates. This is normal
operation, and does not indicate an SIR system malfunction.
8. Remove the right/passenger sound insulator from the instrument panel (I/P) (3).
9. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) from the I/P module yellow connector (2).
10. Disconnect the I/P module yellow connector (1) from the vehicle harness yellow connector (2).
ENABLING PROCEDURE
1. Remove the key from the ignition switch.
2. Connect the I/P module yellow connector (1) to the vehicle harness yellow connector (2).
3. Install the CPA to the I/P module yellow connector (2).
4. Install the right sound insulator to the I/P (3).
5. Install the SIR fuse into the right rear fuse center (1).
6. Install the right rear fuse center cover.
7. Position the carpet back under the right rear seat.
8. Use caution while reaching in and turn the ignition switch to the ON position.The AIR BAG indicator will flash then turn OFF.
9. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle if the AIR BAG warning indicator does not operate as described. Refer to Diagnostic System
