Pedal Positioning Sensor: Removal and Replacement

Brake Pedal Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure

1.  Remove the driver side instrument panel (I/P) insulator closeout panel.

2.  Remove the bolt (1) securing the brake pedal position switch to the brake panel bracket.
3.  Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure

1.  Connect the electrical connector on the switch.
2.  Align the brake panel position switch to the stud (3).

Notice:  Refer to Fastener Notice.

3.  Install the bolt (1) securing the brake panel position switch to the brake panel bracket.

Tighten the bolt (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4.  Install the driver side I/P insulator closeout panel.
5.  Recalibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration.  See: Procedures
