Subject: Front Floor Console Compartment Door Interference (Sticks, Will Not Fully Open) with Ashtray (Replace Ashtray)
Models:
2004-2009 Cadillac XLR
Condition
Some customers may comment that the front floor console compartment door sticks or will not fully open.
Cause
As it rotates open, the front floor console door may be contacting the outer right edge of the ashtray. There may be insufficient clearance between the
console door and the ashtray.
Correction
Replace the original front floor console ashtray with a newly redesigned ashtray which provides sufficient clearance for the console door.
1. Open the front floor console compartment door.
2. Remove the console compartment divider and slightly lift the forward edge of the console cupholder upward to allow for easier removal of the
ashtray.
