Remove the screws attaching the lower steering column cover to the steering column.

Remove the lower steering column trim cover from the upper steering column trim cover.
27.
Tilt the lower steering column trim cover down.
27.1 Slide the lower steering column trim cover backward in order to disengage the locking tabs.
28.
Remove the upper steering column trim cover mounting screws (1).
29.
Lift the upper steering column trim cover to gain access to the lock cylinder access hole.
30.
Using a bent tip awl, insert the tip into the ignition lock cylinder access hole.
31.
Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the START position.
32.
Using the bent tip awl, push down on the ignition lock cylinder retaining pin.
