Wheel Bearing: Adjustments
FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS ADJUSTMENT
2WD MODELS
1.
Raise and support front of vehicle.
2.
While rotating wheel assembly in forward direction, tighten spindle nut to specifications to fully seat the bearings.
3.
Back off spindle nut until just loose, then hand tighten spindle nut.
4.
Loosen nut until hole in spindle aligns with a spindle nut slot, then install new cotter pin.
5.
When properly adjusted, endplay should measure .001-.005 inch.
6.
Install rotor/hub cap, then lower vehicle.
