Reference Signal: Description and Operation

NOTE:  Because different models and engine applications vary in wire colors, circuit numbers, and pin numbers, the above image is a typical example.

PURPOSE:

The control module uses this signal to tell when the vehicle is in the STARTING mode.  This information is used to allow enrichment and cancel
diagnostics while engine is cranking.
