Unwanted Entry Through End Gate (Install New Handle and Bracket)

Condition
Some customers may comment on unwanted entry through the end gate.
Correction
Install a new cover plate assembly using the procedure below.
Remove the trim panel.
Cut the tape from the rear spoiler mounting surface.
Remove the end gate spoiler retainers and rear end gate spoiler.
Remove the handle assembly mounting bolts from the tailgate.
Release the lock rods from the handle assembly and disconnect the electrical.
Remove the three screws from the lock assembly cover and discard the cover.
Clean the top tailgate trim mounting surface of glue residue.
Clean the painted side of the tailgate trim mounting surface of glue residue.
Install the handle assembly to the tailgate.
Install the lock rods to the tailgate.
Install the lock rods to the handle assembly and connect the electrical.
Install the handle assembly mounting bolts to the tailgate.
Install the new plate to the endgate.
