EGR Tube: Service and Repair

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PIPE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the engine sight shield.
2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve pipe bolts (3).
3. Remove the bolt (4) from the right side head.
4. Remove the EGR valve pipe nuts (5).
5. Remove the EGR valve pipe (2).
6. Remove the EGR gaskets (1).
7. Clean the EGR valve pipe mounting surfaces.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install NEW EGR gaskets (1).
2. Install the EGR valve pipe (2).

NOTE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the EGR valve pipe bolts (3).

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the bolt (4) to the right side head.
