Improper engine block heater installation may lead to a coolant leakage problem. If the block heater is identified as the coolant leakage source, then the
heater should be replaced. Reuse of any engine block heater is not recommended because of stressed clamping and sealing components.
Correct installation of the L-4 2.0L (YIN CODE 1) engine block heater is in the 5 o'clock position as shown in the Illustration. Torque the central screw
to 2.2 - 2.8 N-m (1.6 - 2.0 Ft.Lb.). The V6 2.8L (VIN CODE W) engine block heater is located at 6 o'clock and torqued to 1.6 - 2.2 N-m (1.2 - 1.6
Ft.Lb.).
