The oil pressure gage on some 1987-88 Beretta, Corsica models may read in the red warning zone during a hot idle condition. This could be a false
indication of an oil pressure condition due to an improper sender calibration.

Engine oil pressure should be checked using an accurate external gage installed in place of the oil pressure sender. The minimum oil pressure measured
at hot idle should be 6 PSI and this pressure should immediately increase when engine RPM is increased. If these readings are bad, there may be a
problem within the engine oil distribution system.

If the engine has proper oil pressure, a new oil pressure sender can be installed which redefines the gage reading at the low end of the scale. This should
give the customer a more accurate warning of low engine oil pressure.

Parts are expected to be available on September 5, 1988. Until then normal part orders will not be accepted by GMSPO. Only verifiable emergency VIP
orders will be accepted. SPO will make every effort to obtain parts. All parts will be placed on 400 control to waive VIP surcharges. However, the part
will be shipped premium transportation at dealer's expense. All other order types will be canceled as incorrectly ordered while the 400 control is in place.
