Turn Signal Switch: Service and Repair
1.
Remove steering wheel, then the turn signal cancel cam assembly.
2.
Remove hazard warning knob attaching screw, then the hazard warning knob.
3.
Position turn signal switch in such a way so column cover attaching screw and turn signal attaching screws are accessible.
4.
Remove column cover attaching screw, then the column cover.
5.
Remove dimmer switch actuator upper attaching screw, then the dimmer switch actuator.
6.
Remove turn signal lever attaching screw from dimmer switch actuator, then remove lever. On models equipped with cruise control, disconnect
wire connector.
7.
Remove turn signal switch attaching screws.
8.
Remove buzzer switch wires (light green and tan/black wires) from turn signal switch wiring connector using tool J-35689-A.
9.
Remove turn signal switch.
10.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque turn signal switch attaching screws to 35 inch lbs.
b.
Attach light green buzzer switch wire to terminal F of turn signal switch wiring connector.
c.
Attach tan/black buzzer switch wire to terminal G of turn signal switch wiring connector.
d.
Torque turn signal lever attaching screw to 18 inch lbs.
e.
Torque dimmer switch actuator attaching screw to 20 inch lbs.
f.
Torque column cover attaching screw to 35 inch lbs.
g.
Torque hazard warning switch attaching screw to 7 inch lbs.
h.
Torque steering wheel attaching nut to 30 ft. lbs.
