Exhaust Manifold

Exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts (160), follow the tightening sequence and tighten to 42 Nm (31 lbs. ft.).

Exhaust manifold brace to manifold bolt and torque to 54 Nm (40 lbs. ft.).
16. Timing chain.
17. Front cover and new gaskets and tighten to 12 Nm (106 lbs. in.).
18. Coolant pump assembly to timing chain nuts (if not previously installed). Tighten to 26 Nm (19 lbs. ft.). If re-using the same timing chain housing,
skip steps 18, 20 and 21.
19. Exhaust manifold nuts into exhaust pipe flange.

Turn both nuts in evenly to avoid cocking the exhaust pipe and binding the nuts.
20. Manifold to exhaust pipe nuts and torque to 26 Nm (19 lbs. ft.).
21. Exhaust manifold heat shields.
22. Oxygen sensor connector.
23. Negative battery cable.
24. Start engine.
25. Inspect for oil and coolant leaks.
