Condition

Some owners may comment on insufficient cooling of the A/C system.

Cause

Some vehicles may lose the A/C refrigerant charge due to the lowside cap (primary system seal) not being properly seated.

Correction

Leak check system with charge fitting caps (primary seals) properly installed.

No leak detected:

-

Recover, evacuate, and recharge refrigerant system and properly install caps.

-

Perform final leak check.

Leak detected at low charge port primary seal:

-

Replace lowside valve stem, P/N 03041827, and charge valve primary seal cap, P/N 22638852.

-

Perform final leak check.

Follow procedures outlined in Section 1B of the appropriate Service Manual.
