Alternator: Service and Repair
With Air Conditioning
Generator Mounting, With Air Conditioning
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine belt.
CAUTION: To avoid personal injury when rotating the serpentine belt tensioner, use a tight fitting 13 mm wrench that is at least 61 cm (24 inch)
long.
3. Two vacuum lines at front of engine.
4. Vacuum harness retaining bracket.

Position harness aside.
5. Electrical connections from:
^
Injector harness
^
Generator connector
^
Generator battery lead
6. Position harness out of way.
7. Two rear generator mounting bolts.
8. Front generator bolt and engine harness clip.
9. Generator out between the engine lifting eyelet and the A/C compressor and condenser hose, to the right (passenger) side of the radiator filler
neck.
NOTE: Extreme care must be taken during removal and installation not to damage the A/C compressor and condenser hose.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Generator assembly.
2. Front generator bolt and engine harness clip, hand tight.
3. Two rear generator mounting bolts and tighten to specifications. (refer to image)
4. Tighten front generator mounting bolt to specifications.
5. Serpentine belt. (refer to image)

6. Electrical connections to:

Injector harness

Generator connector
^
Generator battery lead
7. Vacuum harness and retaining clip.
8. Two hoses to vacuum harness.
9. Negative battery cable.
