Expansion Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

TXV

1. Disable the SIR system, refer to Disabling the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System.  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding /

Trim/Dash Board / Instrument Panel/Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming/Service and Repair

2. Recover refrigerant.
3. Negative battery cable.
4. Right side under dash insulator panel.
5. Electrical junction box at heater core cover.
6. Left side insulator panel.
7. Steering column filler.
8. Partially remove shift console, if equipped, to gain access to floor duct and heater core cover.
9. Floor duct.

10. Heater core cover.
11. Heater core shroud and straps.

CAUTION: The heater core will be suspended by the heater core pipes at this point. Do not apply any downward pressure on the core, otherwise
damage may occur to the heater core pipes.

12. Insulation tape from valve fittings.
13. Thermal expansion valve.

NOTE: Clean all insulation tape from evaporator fittings to insure correct seating/torque of O-rings.
