Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

NOTE:  Care must be taken when handling engine coolant temperature sensor. Damage to the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor will affect
proper operation of the fuel injection system.

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Drain cooling system below level of sensor.
3. Disconnect electrical connector.
4. Remove ECT sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. Install sensor in engine.
2. Connect electrical connector.
3. Refill cooling system.
4. Connect negative battery cable.
