Steering Wheel Assembly
Steering Wheel Removal
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
TOOL REQUIRED:

J 1859-03 Steering Wheel Puller
1. Horn pad assembly. Refer to "Horn Switch Replacement."
2. Retainer (20).
3. Steering wheel nut (21). Note the relationship of alignment mark (A) on the steering wheel and on the steering shaft.
4. Steering wheel, using J 1859-03. Do not hammer on the puller, or damage could result to the steering column.
INSTALL OR CONNECT

The turn signal control assembly must be in the neutral position when assembling the steering wheel.
1. Steering wheel onto the steering shaft. Align the marks (A) on steering shaft and steering wheel.
IMPORTANT
^
Do not mis-align the steering wheel more than 20 mm (0.80 inch) from the horizontal centerline.
2. Horn lead assembly.
3. Steering wheel nut (21).
TIGHTEN
