Idler Pulley: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Open the hood. 
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable from the battery. 

CAUTION:  Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

3. Remove the upper fan shroud from the radiator.
4. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle. 
5. Remove the drive belt idler pulley from the engine.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the drive belt idler pulley to the engine assembly.

Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.). 

NOTICE:  Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the drive belt to the vehicle. 
3. Install the upper fan shroud to the radiator. 
4. Connect the battery negative cables to the battery. 
5. Close the hood.
