C 2500 Suburban 2WD V8-8.1L VIN G (2001)
1. Coat the camshaft lobes, camshaft bearing journals and camshaft bearings with engine oil supplement GM P/N 1052367 before installing the
camshaft into the cylinder block.
2. Lubricate the following components with clean engine oil, or engine oil supplement GM P/N 1052367 or equivalent.

Notice: All camshaft journals are the same diameter, so care must be used in removing or installing the camshaft to avoid damage to the camshaft
bearings.
3. Install three 8 - 1.25 x 100 mm bolts into the camshaft threaded bolt holes.
4. Using the bolts as a handle, carefully install the camshaft.
5. Remove the bolts from the front of the camshaft.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
6. Install the camshaft retainer and bolts.

Tighten the camshaft retainer bolts to 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.).
7. Install the timing chain and sprocket.
8. Install the valve lifters.
9. Install the A/C condenser.
10. Install the grille.
