Crankshaft Position Timing Ring: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery negative cable assembly from the battery negative terminal. Refer to Battety Disconnect Caution in General Information.
2. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner in Engine Controls.
3. Remove the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Replacement in Engine Cooling.
4. Remove the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement in Engine Cooling.
5. Remove the front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement.
6. Remove the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring.
2. Install the front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement.
3. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement in Engine Cooling.
4. Install the engine cooling fan. Refer to Fan Replacement in Engine Cooling.
5. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner in Engine Controls.
6. Connect the battery negative cable assembly to the battery negative terminal.
Tighten the bolt to 15 Nm (11 lb ft).
