Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair

Rear Wheel Antilock Control Module And Isolation/Dump Valve

NOTE:  The Isolation/Dump Valve is not serviceable. It should be replaced when the diagnostic code charts show it is the cause of a malfunction.

REMOVAL

CAUTION:  Do not touch the electrical connections and pins or allow them to come into contact with brake fluid as this will damage the Rear Wheel
Anti Lock (RWAL) Control Module.

1. Remove brake pipe fittings.

CAUTION:  Do not allow Isolation/Dump Valve the to hang by the wiring harness.

2. Remove bolts.
3. Remove bottom electrical connector from RWAL Control Module.
4. Remove Isolation/Dump Valve.

INSTALLATION

1. Install Isolation/Dump Valve.

-

Tighten bolts to 29 Nm (21 ft lbs).

2. Install electrical connector to the RWAL Control Module .

-

If there is brake fluid on the connectors, clean them with water followed by denatured alcohol.

3. Install brake pipes.

-

Tighten fittings to 24 Nm (18 ft lbs).

4. Bleed the system. See: Brake Bleeding
