Engine Front Cover Seal Installation
1. Install front crankshaft seal. Use tool J 35468.
NOTE:The open end of the seal faces inside the engine. Coat the seal lips with engine oil.
2. Install front cover gasket to the front cover. Use gasket cement to hold it in place.
3. Install front cover to the engine.
Torque cover to block bolts to: 11.3n.m (100 in. lbs.).
4. Install oil pan.
Torque: Oil pan nuts at corners
22n.m (200 in. lbs.)
Oil pan bolts
11n.m (100 in. lbs.)
Oil pan studs to rear seal retainer
2n.m (15 in. lbs)
5. Install water pump. Refer to Water Pump. See: Water Pump/Service and Repair
Torque bolts/ studs to: 40n.m (30 ft. lbs.)
6. Install torsional damper.
Torque to: 95n.m (70 ft. lbs.)
