Vacuum Pump: Description and Operation
Vacuum Pump
Purpose:
The diaphragm type vacuum pump supplies a vacuum source to EGR system, heater and air conditioning servos, and cruise control servo.
Operation:
The belt driven pump has a pulley attached which is driven by the generator belt. With the exception of the pulley, the vacuum pump is replaced as
an assembly.
Location:
The vacuum pump is bracket mounted at the right front of the engine.
